Canteen wz. 37 was developed in 1937 by the Military Technical Institute. It had a capacity of 0.8 L and a weight of 280 grams. On May 28th, 1938, the canteen obtained the patent number 26727. Canteens produced before World War II did not have a cover (instead they were stored in a haversack). After 1945, in People's Poland, the production of Canteen wz. 37 was initially renewed to a slightly simplified version (tin or white plastic cap). Canteen wz. 37 was produced until 1990.
The canteen has an oval form with a flattened bottom, which allows it to stand. It also has a wide opening, which allows convenient pouring of drinks, as well as easy cleaning of the interior. It is also possible to remove food from it with a spoon. The cap is attached to the canteen with a chain. The canteens are accompanied by a khaki cloth cover with two snap hooks, allowing them to be attached to a belt.
