MP-4 gas mask (commonly called "Bulldog") - a gas mask used in the Polish Army. This is a Polish copy of the American M-17 mask. Manufactured until the 90s. The mask protects against the effects of poisonous chemicals, biological weapons and against radioactive substances.
The face part of the mask is made of rubber. The mask has an unusual location of the filter absorbers (sorption filter inserts) - not in a separate can as in most masks, but in the enhanced cheeks of the mask; hence the colloquial term 'bulldog'. The purpose of this solution was, among others, to improve visibility when looking down and reduce inertia when moving head sideways. The mask glasses are made of glass. To prevent retting, an anti-dew shield and additional eyeglass lenses in the MP-4 were attached to the mask.
The mask also introduces a phonic-exhalation chamber, which allows articulation of speech. The voice is heard through the sound membrane (upper circle with mesh).
The set includes brand new, hermetically packed filters and a khaki bag-cover.
The masks are new, in stock. May have signs of long-term storage.
